"Just go Dream."
Nightmare felt someone embracing him instead.
"No."
He turned around.
"...What..."
Dream hugged him as if his life depended on it.
"Don't leave again..."
Nightmare didn't know what to say.
Half the time he felt like nothing would matter anymore. He was, after all, too far gone.
"Dream, I can't go with you. I'm already-"
"Brother, I understand. You're just scared and insecure and it makes you so 'unstable'. But don't worry, I will help you." He enquired.
"Unstable...? You think I am JUST unstable?" Nightmare was really upset for no reason.
"Brother I know what you mean. You're like this because of my blindness, my over-trusting nature and inability to see right through you." the Prince of Dreams stated.
"No, I never meant-"
"I can tell, brother. How you suffered. I should've stood up for you. You were so scared... You literally cried yourself to sleep each night, behind my back. Blood and cuts and bruises would clothe you and you would fear anyone coming to our tree. Brother, I didn't know how you dealt with it before... I do now. You were so used to the pain, it was a toxic habit. You let them in and let them hurt you, all because you didn't want me involved in this. You let them do you wrong to keep me in the dark, and that's not all. Did you think I didn't know you tried to harm yourself in secret? Your cut marks were vibrant and red, but I kept mum because I was scared if I asked, I would upset you, but no more. Today, I am going to force you to tell me whatever's hurting you." he huffed.
"Dream, be a good brother and leave me alone." Nightmare warned.
"No."
"Dream."
"No."
"Then I will force you to-" he was cut of by Dream putting something into his mouth.
'Chocolate...?'
He loves chocolate!
"Why... Won't you just leave me alone...?" he sobbed. He was trying so hard to push Dream away.
But Dream has realised, deep down he needed him more than ever.
"I'm not going to let your outside deny you of your inside." Dream took a blanket from the bed and placed it around his brother's shoulders.
"Doesn't it feel tiring?
To keep this worthless act?
Playing like you're ay okay,
But then your soul's in half,
Liking the toxic pain,
Putting yourself in vain,
Keeping me in the dark,
Hoping I'm not seeing,
Leave behind this worthless mask,
And let your scars reveal,
Only then can people come,
And help you here to heal.
I know it seems bleak right now,
But I'll be here to help,
I'll guide your way back home,
If you should go through Hell."
He turned around.

The Prince of Nightmares just kept silent. He was really tired, and just fell asleep on his brother.
Of all things in the world.
He had to end up so vulnerable.
But...
Being vulnerable now...
Isn't so bad after all.
