Discuss the plurality of the Malaysian society and its effect on you

Plurality in a society: Where it involves people of different races, religions and beliefs.

Welcome to Malaysia, a country of many people of all kinds.

Malaysia has evolved over the years from a small country taken over by Muslims to a place where every country in the world can come and just be themselves. However, we must also take precaution to not offend anyone here. If we do, problems will arise.

Yeah, in a country like this, many of us will be confused, right? What can we do, what can't we do. We live in such a large diversity that we end up having a lot of confusion and sometimes conflict.

This place that we Malaysians call home has seen lots of love shown around as well as war tearing us apart.

Actually, let's hear a story, shall we?

A long, long time ago, Malaysia was named Malaya.

Malaya was a fine country housing people from everywhere. It was mainly three races: Malay, Chinese and Indians. They were normal, living their own lives and doing their own stuff.

Until one day...

Oh no!

The British have come!

The Malayans had a hard time during this period.

Then one day, Japanese came.

More rub happened between everyone.

All three races had different opinions on Japanese.

Chinese said: "We don't want the Japanese here! They've hurt so many of our brothers and sisters back in China!"

Malay said: "They seem to give us a profit, let's work with them." However, the Malay were then ripped off and so started hating on the Japanese.

Indian said: "They seem to give us profit, we shall work with them." They were treated well, and so no opposition came from them.

It was even worse for Malaya than before. Violence ensued and suddenly the entire place was in chaos.

Then one day...

Hooray! The British are here!

They came and saved Malaya from the Japanese rule.

Things slowly went back to shape, and it was soon alright again.

However, Malayans thought that they should be free, and learn to be Independent.

One day, they went and gave their opinions to the British.

The British said: "Okay, we will let you free. On one condition, you are able to show us you can stand on your own two feet."

To do this, the Malayans had to do something nearly impossible: They had to mix diversities.

It was a big challenge, as they were separated for so long that they had nothing to glue themselves together.

Slowly, they began to work together. They mixed with each other and slowly began to form a covalent bond using the different atoms.

One day, they realized something:

They were really working together.

They could laugh and talk to each other with no tension.

This became proof they were ready.

In 1957, the Malayans officially were freed from British rule.

After sometime, more places merged with Malaya and Malaysia became a thing.

As for me, I'm actually fine in such a vast society. We live in a world where there are so many kinds of people that care for each other and love each other.

I have friends from different religions and they don't mind that I'm Chinese and I don't mind that they are culturally different from me.

We laugh, cry, share our thoughts and have fun together. No rub between us.

We live in a world were the society is accepting, kind, non-judgmental and diverse. Keeping up with this society isn't hard, for you know you are always loved.
