In Her View

You once said this, "I do, I do,"
In turn, I said them back to you,
We made our vows and made a life,
This little joy could end our strife,

I felt the joy that you would give,
On happiness I'd simply live,
Life threw us to rags and scraps,
We made the best and passed mishaps,

But then it, came a day I wished,
Would never ever come so soon,
You left me with my heart so hurt,
I simply lost the love from you,

On that bed your lifeless corpse,
Oh, darling, how I cried and I cried!
Wishing you'd come back to me,
The day my dear beloved died,

I once had thought end was far,
But never ever did I once,
Abuse your strength or smarts or love,
But now that strength's already lost,

I had some dreams with you in them,
You would give me your hand to hold,
I would try to follow you,
But woke up in the end, left cold,

On my own I wasn't sure,
If things could made sense anymore,
I just couldn't find the will,
To end this fruitless, hopeless war,

So I went out making friends,
And boy did joy come back to me,
I felt light and glad again,
I gained what I had lacked, you see,

But each day I can still recall,
The very day you took the fall,
I still do cry out your name,
Will I see you once again?
