Activities At The Pusat Sumber

"I went to a five star hotel!"

"Was it big?"

"It was huge!"

"Well, I went to a SIX star hotel!"

"SIX star?! Was it big?!"

"It was HUMONGOUS!!!"

"Hahahahaha..."

I did the Le Gasp meme and Rue Ying couldn't stop laughing.

It was Day Two of the Activities in the Library, or what we call the 'Pusat Sumber'.

The fist day was the day before. On that day we had to draw monsters from our memories.

I had to look into my past and sketch up something or I would draw something else.

(Or at least, I think I would've.)

After thinking, I figured the only thing I could draw properly into a monster was a childhood memory of my mind going wild.

When I was a child in kindergarten, whenever I went to toilet, there was always something in the boy's toilet. Something...scary.

It was huge!

So big I thought it fit 1/3 of the room's wall.

It was rectangular and had a reddish eye and something like a mouth.

I would normally run away or tell teacher there was a monster, but they would say: "That's not a monster."

How is it not a monster?!

I was still scared of this giant silver beast, but one day my entire mind was blown.

A boy went into the toilet and stood there.

I was confused.

What in the world is he doing standing so close to the monster?

I suddenly heard something like water.

The boy was peeing.

In front of the monster.

"Hah...?"

That day, I learnt something.

That wasn't a monster in the boy's toilet...

It was LITERALLY the boy's toilet!

It was the water tank that stores water to flush the toilet.

I was shocked!

I drew it like this:

One side it was it really is.

The other?

What I think it is.

I then wrote the description and it was passed up.

After that, teacher told us to re-draw the monster of another student. We would all get the description and we would have to re-draw it.

"Ok, then if you get your own description, please give it to me and we'll swap."

I got this:

My monster is actually more cute than scary

It is green

It is the shape of a water drop

It has two similar looking smaller water drops beside it

I drew it and later showed it to the owner, Chlarine.

We compared the two drawings and Chlarine said it looked quite similar.

I saw one or two others. Some which were quite good.

We also compared who's description isn't possible to follow since our true objective is to do descriptions.

Some literally had no description of the monster and it just couldn't be followed.

We were asked to stick the drawings and description into our books.

The next day, which is today, we were asked to find adjectives for some words, like angry and scary.

We were terrified of not being able to do it well and teacher might blow her top.

We both battled for the better word, giving tips and word suggestions to the other.

It didn't seem like a battle.

For me and my bestie, competition isn't what will make us improve. It's us helping each other and giving suggestions.

We learn more that way.
