Out Of The Blue
"Oh, oh, yeah~" the children in the bus sang along to the song being played. Sans was napping away and Papyrus wasn't really happy that he was now a pillow.
"SAAAAAANS...DON'T SLEEP ON MEEEEE....." he whined. His brother didn't even flinch.
"Next stop, the Waterfall." Mr. Nightmare said as he turned the bus left. Dream was in the seat behind him and asking him questions like: how does it look like? And: does it have waterfalls? Mr. Nightmare chuckled.
"Hey kids, we're gonna be there soon, so please bear with me here." Mr. Nightmare said. He eased the brakes to move right when he heard something like pencils dropping on the floor.
Huh?
"AH!!!" there was a scream. Half the bus turned back. Sans was holding his little brother and the kids around them earlier were now standing away from them. A few glass shards were stuck in Papyrus' arm and blood oozed out. Broken glass was everywhere at the back: on the floor and seats.
"pap? you still conscious?" Sans asked. Papyrus just cried. "IT HURTS..." "i know, please bear with me. i'll get the teacher," Sans stood up. Two minutes later the bus shook violently and more windows broke, showering the terrified children in glass. Screams filled the air as Mr. Nightmare finally managed to pull the bus to a stop.
"Is everyone alright?" the teacher asked. "Brother! Papyrus is in trouble!" Dream called. All the windows in the back half of the bus were now shattered and a few metal beams blocked the path. The small child was trapped!
Mr. Nightmare waked down the aisle to the site. The other children were already on the safe side.
"Papyrus, buddy, can you hear me?" Mr. Nightmare asked. He heard a 'Mm hm' from the boy. "Papyrus, I need you to try and walk to me." the teacher cooed, peeping through the gaps. He saw the little boy shake his head violently.
"Papyrus, I need you to-" someone held his hand. It was Lynx. She pointed. "Look."
Mr. Nightmare saw from her direction and realized some of the metal beams were hanging dangerously above the boy, held by some pieces of metal. Should the boy make a wrong move, the beams could fall on him.
Oh my orange, what should I do?
"papy!!" a voice came from behind Mr. Nightmare. It was Sans. "papy, you ok? the beams just fell down!!" he pushed his way to the front. The younger brother was still standing there, unwilling to move. Sans checked up and down and found the source. He looked down for a minute and then to his brother.
"hey pap, remember when we used to play Follow Me?" Sans asked. "U-UH HUH..." was the reply. "ok papyrus, follow me. do what i say and 1, 2, 3! follow this: move 1 step to the left." papyrus wanted to protest but he did as told. "now follow this: move 3 steps front." he moved again. "now follow this: move 5 steps to the right." another 5 steps. "now follow this-" he looked up- "jump!" the small boy jumped and he caught hold of his brother's hand. A piece of metal fell and went straight into his fore arm. "ngah!" "SANS!!!" he cried. Sans panted as blood dripped out in a steady flow. Papyrus was worried and quite frightened.
Is Sans going to die?
Afraid of losing someone he loves so much, he started to cry. Sans was quick to regain his composure and started coaxing his little brother.
"oh, it's ok papy, really. i'm fine. big brother still here." he said. Papyrus seemed to have calmed down from that and he was now putting up a brave front.
"that's my bro."
Sans slowly withdrew his arm, guiding Papyrus through the gap. The little boy was quick to pull the elder into a hug.
"SANS! WE'RE ALRIGHT!"
"course bro. we'll always be fine."
